Samuel Hill Synagogue
with Shlomo Ben Harosh Architect
AALK was invited to join SBA to design a “Pray & Study” concept within an old Water Tower in the old neighbourhood of Giv’at Shaul in Jerusalem. The concept was to create an environment that highlight spirituality and true belief. A space that allows the pupils to share their knowledge with each other, and freely debate about many subjects.
The architecture uses the round aspect of the tower and translate it into many different functions and features within the design. The addition of the lift on the side of the building allows an easy access to the different floors and opens the roof for visitors, as it is one of the highest point in the city.
